This book comes from a project assigned in a Typography course. We were tasked with typesetting an entire book, including endpages and covers. To focus on the task at hand, typesetting and cover design (strictly typographic) all copy and images were provided.
The body text is set in Helvetica.

Born from a project encouraging the creation of a trio of books as a part of a series, I designed the following tribute to the the women of art often overshadowed by, or coupled with, their husbands working in the same, or similar, fields. I wanted the illustrations to feel inviting, but strong and proud in stance, notions often reflected in the works of the women portrayed.

Creating these book covers as a trio was an exercise in applying and enforcing design principles to convey the essence of the architects they represent: Louis Sullivan, Richard Neutra, and Frank Gehry. Each cover was meticulously crafted to reflect the unique styles and contributions of these iconic figures in architecture.
By adhering to these design principles across all three covers, I aimed to create a cohesive visual language that pays homage to each architect's distinct aesthetic while highlighting their shared legacy in the field.
Additionally, the carefully curated color story further reinforces the connection between the covers, serving as a subtle yet impactful nod to the relationships and influences between these architectural pioneers.
In bringing these book covers together as a trio, my goal was not only to create visually striking designs but also to evoke a sense of the depth and significance of their contributions to the world of architecture.
